LIMITED ENGINEERED HARDWOOD FLOORING WARRANTY

Limited Lifetime Residential Structural Warranty
25-Year Limited Residential Finish Warranty
5-Year Limited Light Commercial Finish Warranty
1-Year Limited Manufacturing Workmanship Warranty

Effective Date: October 9, 2026

Warranty Coverage and Eligibility

Norden Floors LLC ("Norden") warrants eligible new Norden-branded engineered hardwood flooring against qualifying manufacturing defects, subject to the terms, conditions, exclusions, and limitations stated in this Limited Warranty.

This warranty applies exclusively to the original purchaser of eligible flooring purchased directly from Norden or an authorized retailer.

Coverage is non-transferable and applies only to the original installation location.

Warranty periods begin on the original purchase date. Replacement flooring does not restart or extend the applicable warranty period.

For purposes of the Limited Lifetime Residential Structural Warranty, "lifetime" means the period during which the original purchaser continues to own and occupy the original residential installation property.

For flooring purchased by a trust, LLC, or other legal entity, residential lifetime coverage applies only where Norden expressly confirms eligibility in writing before purchase. Commercial properties and properties held primarily for rental or investment purposes are not eligible for residential lifetime coverage unless Norden expressly approves them in writing.

This warranty does not cover used, previously installed, salvage, second-quality, or expressly sold-as-is flooring, except where applicable law requires otherwise.

Limited Lifetime Residential Structural Warranty

Norden warrants that eligible engineered hardwood flooring will be free from qualifying factory-origin structural manufacturing defects during the applicable residential warranty period.

Covered structural defects include:

  • Failure of factory bonding between engineered flooring layers.
  • Manufacturing-related separation or delamination of the hardwood wear layer from the core.
  • Manufacturing-related structural assembly defects that materially impair the intended function of the affected plank.

A manufacturing defect means a material deviation from Norden's published product specifications that existed when the flooring left the manufacturer's control.

Cupping, crowning, checking, gaps, cracking, movement, warping, or delamination do not, by themselves, establish a manufacturing defect.

Coverage applies only where the available evidence reasonably establishes that the condition originated from manufacturing rather than installation, moisture, environmental exposure, misuse, or another excluded cause.

25-Year Limited Residential Finish Warranty

Norden warrants that the original factory-applied finish on eligible residential flooring will not completely wear through to bare wood from normal residential foot traffic during the first 25 years following the original purchase date.

A qualifying claim requires:

  1. Complete wear-through of the original factory-applied finish to exposed wood.
  2. Wear-through affecting at least 10% of the total installed flooring surface area.
  3. Normal residential foot traffic.
  4. Compliance with applicable installation, environmental, and maintenance requirements.
  5. Reasonable evidence that the condition is covered rather than attributable to an excluded cause.

This warranty does not cover scratches, dents, scuffs, gouges, surface abrasion, changes in sheen, fading, discoloration, stains, or localized damage caused by furniture, pets, footwear, rolling equipment, or other external influences.

The 10% threshold applies to traffic-related finish wear-through and does not apply to independently verified factory finish-application defects covered under the separate one-year manufacturing workmanship warranty.

Natural-oil, unfinished, and site-finished flooring are excluded from this finish warranty unless expressly designated as eligible by Norden.

1-Year Limited Manufacturing Workmanship Warranty

For one year following the original purchase date, Norden warrants eligible flooring against material factory-origin defects involving:

  • Milling and machining.
  • Dimensions outside published manufacturing tolerances.
  • Factory grading materially inconsistent with published specifications.
  • Factory staining defects.
  • Factory finish-application defects.
  • Other verified factory workmanship defects that materially impair the product's intended function.

Visible defects must be reported before installation.

Concealed manufacturing defects that could not reasonably have been discovered during pre-installation inspection remain eligible during the applicable warranty period.

Natural wood characteristics and variations within Norden's published grading and manufacturing specifications are not defects.

5-Year Limited Light Commercial Finish Warranty

Eligible flooring installed in an approved light commercial environment may qualify for a five-year limited finish warranty.

Commercial coverage requires Norden's written approval of the product and intended application before installation.

Coverage is limited to qualifying factory finish wear-through under approved pedestrian traffic conditions and is subject to the applicable warranty requirements and exclusions.

Heavy commercial, industrial, high-impact, high-rolling-load, and other unapproved installations are excluded.

No separate commercial structural warranty is provided unless expressly authorized in writing by Norden.

Professional Installation Requirements

Flooring must be installed by a qualified professional installer using methods approved in Norden's current product-specific installation instructions.

Installers must comply with applicable installation standards and Norden's requirements for:

  • Jobsite preparation.
  • Subfloor flatness, stability, and moisture.
  • Approved installation methods.
  • Required acclimation.
  • Expansion and movement allowances.
  • Approved adhesives and underlayments.
  • Moisture-control systems.
  • Environmental conditions.

Norden does not warrant installation workmanship.

Damage caused or materially contributed to by improper installation, unsuitable substrates, or noncompliance with applicable installation requirements is excluded.

Storage, Acclimation, and Environmental Requirements

Flooring must be stored and installed in an enclosed, dry, climate-controlled environment consistent with Norden's product-specific instructions.

Unless otherwise specified in the applicable installation guide, recommended baseline conditions are:

  • Indoor temperature: 65–80°F.
  • Relative humidity: 35–55%.
  • Acclimation: At least 72 hours where required by the applicable product instructions.

Product-specific technical requirements take precedence over these general guidelines.

Owners must maintain environmental conditions consistent with Norden's published requirements throughout the flooring's service life.

Damage caused or materially contributed to by excessive humidity, excessive dryness, moisture, temperature fluctuations, or unsuitable environmental conditions is excluded.

Subfloor and Moisture Testing

Before installation, the installer must verify that the subfloor is structurally sound, clean, dry, properly prepared, and within Norden's published moisture and flatness tolerances.

Appropriate moisture testing must be completed and documented before installation.

Required moisture barriers, vapor-control systems, and other installation materials must be used where specified.

Installation over unsuitable, unstable, excessively moist, or improperly prepared substrates is excluded from coverage for resulting damage.

Purchasers should retain installation records, moisture readings, and relevant jobsite documentation.

Pre-Installation Inspection

The purchaser and installer must reasonably inspect flooring before installation.

Visible manufacturing defects, incorrect products, shipping damage, and unacceptable visible conditions must be reported before installation.

Flooring with reasonably discoverable visible defects should not be installed.

Installation of visibly defective flooring may constitute acceptance of the visible condition to the extent permitted by law.

This provision does not eliminate coverage for concealed manufacturing defects that could not reasonably have been discovered before installation.

Pre-Installation Manufacturing Defects

Verified manufacturing defects identified before installation are eligible for replacement of the affected defective product.

Approved pre-installation claims are not subject to the post-installation replacement caps or proration schedule.

Norden's voluntary contractual obligation is limited to replacing the verified defective quantity.

Norden is not required to replace unaffected products or the entire order solely because some products are defective.

No labor, installation, removal, or related services are included.

Norden will provide standard domestic shipping for approved replacement product within the contiguous United States. Expedited delivery, special handling, international transportation, and other extraordinary shipping arrangements are excluded unless expressly authorized by Norden or required by law.

Care and Maintenance

The owner must follow Norden's published flooring care and maintenance instructions.

Required practices include:

  • Promptly cleaning spills.
  • Avoiding standing water.
  • Avoiding steam mops and excessive wet mopping.
  • Using approved hardwood cleaning products.
  • Protecting flooring from furniture damage and concentrated impacts.
  • Maintaining appropriate temperature and humidity.
  • Avoiding unauthorized sanding, refinishing, coatings, or modifications.
  • Taking reasonable precautions against excessive sunlight and heat.

Damage caused or materially contributed to by improper maintenance is excluded.

Comprehensive Warranty Exclusions

This Limited Warranty does not cover damage or conditions caused or materially contributed to by the following:

A. Natural wood characteristics

Knots, mineral streaks, grain and color variation, sapwood, character markings, natural texture, and other characteristics within Norden's published grades and manufacturing tolerances.

B. Normal wear and appearance changes

Scratches, dents, scuffs, fading, dulling, discoloration, oxidation, surface abrasion, and ordinary cosmetic changes, except qualifying finish wear-through expressly covered by this warranty.

C. Water and moisture

Flooding, plumbing leaks, appliance leaks, spills, standing water, condensation, excessive humidity, subfloor moisture, vapor transmission, wet mopping, mold, mildew, and resulting swelling, cupping, buckling, warping, or delamination.

D. Environmental conditions and weather

UV exposure, sunlight, excessive heat, excessive dryness, temperature fluctuations, rain, snow, storms, flooding, natural disasters, and other environmental influences.

E. Installation and construction

Improper installation, inadequate acclimation, insufficient expansion allowances, unsuitable subfloors, incorrect adhesives, unapproved underlayments, construction traffic, dropped tools, and other installation-related damage.

F. Misuse, accidents, and improper maintenance

Pet damage, impacts, heavy furniture, rolling equipment, high heels, excessive loads, abuse, neglect, accidents, unsuitable cleaning products, and failure to follow published maintenance instructions.

G. Unauthorized alterations

Sanding, refinishing, recoating, staining, modification, or repair that causes or materially contributes to the claimed condition.

H. Shipping and handling

Damage occurring during transportation, delivery, unloading, storage, or handling after manufacture.

Shipping damage is not a manufacturing defect and must be reported through the applicable delivery or carrier claims process, subject to Norden's separate legal obligations as seller.

I. Appearance matching

Differences between replacement and existing flooring resulting from natural wood variation, aging, production changes, discontinued products, or environmental exposure.

J. Unapproved applications

Installations or uses inconsistent with Norden's published product-specific requirements, including prohibited wet areas, radiant heating systems, and unapproved commercial environments.

These exclusions do not eliminate coverage for an independently verified qualifying manufacturing defect merely because its symptoms resemble an excluded condition.

Exclusive Warranty Remedy — Replacement Product Only

For an approved warranty claim, Norden's sole voluntary contractual remedy is the provision of replacement flooring material.

Replacement applies exclusively to the individual planks or products verified to have a qualifying covered defect.

Norden does not voluntarily provide:

  • Cash refunds or monetary reimbursements.
  • Store credits.
  • Repair or refinishing services.
  • Removal or installation labor.
  • Replacement of unaffected flooring.
  • Replacement of an entire order, room, or installation unless the relevant products independently qualify as defective.
  • Additional flooring for cutting waste, installation allowances, or appearance matching.

Norden may provide identical or reasonably comparable replacement material, subject to availability.

Replacement flooring remains covered only for the unexpired portion of the original warranty.

Prorated Residential Replacement Allowance

Approved post-installation residential warranty claims are subject to the following maximum replacement allowances:

Flooring age                      Maximum replacement allowance

Years 0–2                                                            100%

Years 3–5                                                              80%

Years 6–10                                                           60%

Years 11–15                                                           40%

Years 16–20                                                       25%

Years 21–25                                                         15%

Year 26 onward                                                10% — structural coverage only

Proration is calculated using the original purchase price attributable exclusively to the verified defective flooring material.

The allowance is applied directly toward qualifying replacement product.

If the replacement material costs more than the available allowance, the purchaser may be responsible for the difference.

No cash reimbursement, store credit, or unrelated merchandise is provided.

Prorated Light Commercial Replacement Allowance

Approved post-installation commercial finish claims are subject to the following maximum replacement allowances:

Warranty year                      Maximum allowance

Year 1                                                            100%

Year 2                                                              75%

Year 3                                                            50%

Year 4                                                            25%

Year 5                                                            10%

No commercial finish coverage applies after the fifth year.

Maximum Post-Installation Replacement Liability

Norden's contractual replacement-product obligations are subject to the following maximum limits, to the extent permitted by applicable law:

Claim category                            Maximum replacement product value

Residential structural                         $3,000 per occurrence

Residential finish                                    $1,500 per occurrence

Approved light commercial           $1,500 per occurrence
finish

All approved post                                  $5,000 per original order
installation  claims combined

The maximum replacement allowance for any approved claim is the lowest of:

  1. The applicable prorated original purchase value of verified defective material;
  2. The applicable per-occurrence limit; or
  3. The remaining aggregate replacement allowance.

Related defects arising from the same underlying manufacturing issue may be treated as one occurrence to the extent permitted by law.

Multiple claims do not increase the aggregate limit.

These post-installation limits do not apply to verified manufacturing defects identified before installation under Section 10.

No Labor or Related Expense Coverage

THIS IS A REPLACEMENT-PRODUCT-ONLY LIMITED WARRANTY.

Norden does not voluntarily provide or reimburse:

  • Flooring removal or disposal.
  • Installation or reinstallation.
  • Contractor or technician labor.
  • Sanding, refinishing, or restoration.
  • Subfloor repairs or preparation.
  • Adhesives, underlayment, fasteners, or installation supplies.
  • Furniture, appliance, cabinet, or fixture removal.
  • Storage, relocation, or temporary accommodations.
  • Additional flooring for matching.
  • Business interruption, lost income, or project delays.
  • Other incidental or consequential expenses.

These exclusions apply to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Shipping of Approved Replacement Product

For approved warranty replacements within the contiguous United States, Norden will provide standard ground or standard freight shipping of the replacement product to the original installation address or another reasonable domestic delivery location designated by Norden.

Norden does not voluntarily cover expedited shipping, special handling, storage, extraordinary access charges, or other nonstandard transportation expenses, except where required by law.

Shipping damage to the original order remains separate from manufacturing warranty coverage and is subject to applicable delivery claims procedures and seller obligations.

Warranty Claims and Documentation

Warranty claims must be submitted in writing during the applicable warranty period.

Purchasers should notify Norden within 30 days after discovering a suspected defect when reasonably practicable.

Claims must be submitted no later than one year after the defect was discovered or reasonably should have been discovered, subject to applicable law.

Reasonably necessary documentation may include:

  1. Original proof of purchase.
  2. Product identification and order number.
  3. Installation date and address.
  4. Installer identification.
  5. Photographs or video of the claimed condition.
  6. Approximate quantity of affected flooring.
  7. Available installation and moisture-testing records.
  8. Relevant environmental and maintenance information.
  9. Other reasonably necessary evidence to evaluate the claim.

Norden may request reasonable access to inspect the flooring or obtain relevant product samples.

Missing historical records do not automatically invalidate a claim.

However, a claim may be denied where the available evidence establishes an excluded cause or where failure to provide reasonably necessary evidence prevents verification of a covered manufacturing defect.

Inspection and Claim Evaluation

Norden may investigate claims using photographs, installation documentation, product samples, moisture testing, or independent professional inspections where reasonably necessary.

The existence of damage does not independently establish a manufacturing defect.

Claims will be evaluated based on reasonably available evidence, Norden's published product specifications, installation requirements, and the terms of this warranty.

Norden may request preservation of affected material and a reasonable opportunity to inspect before destructive removal, except where immediate action is necessary to prevent additional damage or address safety concerns.

Inspection and claim-review expenses are not voluntarily reimbursed unless authorized in advance by Norden or required by law.

Duty to Mitigate Damage

After discovering a suspected defect, the purchaser must take reasonable steps to prevent additional damage.

Norden is not responsible for additional damage caused by unreasonable delay, continued use under damaging conditions, or failure to address known contributing factors.

Purchasers must reasonably cooperate with Norden's investigation and preserve relevant evidence when practical.

Product Availability and Matching

Norden does not guarantee continued availability of any specific collection, color, species, finish, dimension, or production batch.

Where identical material is unavailable, Norden may provide reasonably comparable replacement flooring.

Natural variations, production differences, and changes resulting from aging do not require replacement of unaffected flooring.

If reasonably comparable replacement material cannot be provided, any additional remedies required by applicable law remain available.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, NORDEN'S CONTRACTUAL OBLIGATIONS UNDER THIS EXPRESS LIMITED WARRANTY ARE LIMITED TO REPLACEMENT OF VERIFIED DEFECTIVE FLOORING MATERIAL, SUBJECT TO THE APPLICABLE PRORATION SCHEDULE, PER-OCCURRENCE LIMITS, AND AGGREGATE LIMIT.

NORDEN DOES NOT VOLUNTARILY PROVIDE MONETARY REIMBURSEMENT, LABOR, INSTALLATION, REMOVAL, REFINISHING, OR OTHER SERVICES UNDER THIS LIMITED WARRANTY.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NORDEN SHALL NOT BE LIABLE UNDER THIS LIMITED WARRANTY FOR INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR INDIRECT DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF USE, LOST PROFITS, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, OR TEMPORARY ACCOMMODATIONS.

No dealer, installer, distributor, salesperson, or other representative is authorized to modify this warranty unless expressly approved in writing by an authorized Norden representative.

Applicable Law and Consumer Rights

This is a limited warranty, not a full warranty.

Nothing in this warranty restricts non-waivable statutory rights, applicable implied-warranty protections, or remedies required by law.

If a particular provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.

If the exclusive replacement remedy fails of its essential purpose, remedies required by applicable law remain available.
